More commonly formed, or basic, shapes tend to have fewer variables and limitations, which in turn have higher levels of results that are both theoretical and repeatable. With this in mind, we will only scratch the surface in this “basic” design guide. We work closely with our clients in every step of the process, from design to delivery. We understand that each industry has different demands, so our experts are trained to handle the challenges our clients face with their projects.

Pros of Rolled Roofing

As leaders in metal fabrication, we can provide a diverse range of specialty metal products for unique applications. Metal bending is a process where sheet metal is deformed to achieve a predetermined form through different bending techniques. Force is applied to bend the sheet at an angle until it reaches an anticipated shape, usually “V” or “U.” The main tool used for this process is called a press brake, consisting of a punch and die. Several types of rolled roofing are used as supplements to other roofing materials.

This ten-pass example should be okay if running non-notched, post-cut mild steel. If the section is either notched, pre-cut or high strength material, more passes will be necessary to achieve desired results. Additional passes allow the material to flow through the mill with less strain.

Using steels with yield strengths of KSI with forming angles of around 90-degrees and a 1t – 5t inside bend radius, a “k” factor between 35-40% of the material thickness is most common. Higher yield materials between KSI (with a low elongation percentage), a factor between 40-55% may be necessary. For bend angles over 120-degrees and inside bend radius less than 1t, the “k” factor should be around 50%.

The find cost Vera around $7500, which is a far cry from what it cost to build machines like this in the 1990s. Racers paid a minimum of $25,000 to have a Roll Design Lobo ready to race. Avina built some of the last Lobos that had success in Baja, so he was a good go-to.

Rolled Roofing Basics

With a little help from today’s technology, Avina made it better than it was back then with only minor changes. State Senator William N. Brownsberger ’78, whose district encompasses Allston-Brighton, said motorists had already accepted a compromise by seeing the lanes shrunk in size, if not in number. This will prevent bend #1 from lifting while minimizing bend # 2 distortion. This paper is intended to provide “basic” Roll Forming Tooling design instruction and tips for the beginning or novice designer. In my experience, the ideas expressed in this report can be applied to many situations, but I will stop short of claiming that these are the only solutions.

Still, many advocates pressed the state to reduce the number of lanes on the road to make room for alternative modes of transit — though the state has largely resisted the idea so far. The speed at which these idled rolls spin is dictated by the section (at or near the highest point of the leg) rather than the mills’ drive. Generally this method is necessary when the formed legs of the profile are greater than 70-degrees. Other solutions to overfeeding can be idling key spindles on the mill or idling key forming rolls, clearance angles on rolls that appear to be driving too hard or reducing roll diameters in a previous pass. However, I would still hold the return leg as shown above, after contact with the inside corner is no longer possible.

Inside the bottom end, a new Yukon HD countershaft gear set was needed at $599. A complete Hinson clutch kit finished off the lower end ($450) of this Lobo 250R. To get the power to the rear wheels, a brand-new RK O-ring chain was added to the 15/38T front and rear sprockets. 7.0 ROLL DESIGN TIPS When forming a bend that has a 1t or less inside radius and when “box” forming, a “coining” or “bead” pass is very effective in setting the corner.

I like to form this leg to approximately degrees in three passes depending on the length of the leg. This angle is important because if formed all the way to its finished angle of 90-degrees, access to the inside corner of bend #1 will be limited in the later passes. By keeping bend #2 open 10 to 20 degrees, one additional pass will have contact with bend #1. The final 10 to 20 degrees of forming would take place after the last pass that contacts bend #1. The Elkas are so tunable that no matter what kind of surface you are racing on, the shocks can adapt. The album introduced his use of the Talk Box which allowed him blend his voice and guitar through a plastic tube and create entirely new sounds. Other artists like Stevie Wonder and Joe Walsh had done something similar, but Frampton worked to create his own unique style and signature sound. The developer, Heliogram Labs, indicated that the app’s privacy practices may include handling of data as described below. It doesn’t add furniture, it doesn’t do anything in interior design but adjust colors on your current picture. As it stands now, the realignment would bring 12 lanes of traffic across the turnpike and Soldiers Field Road down to ground level.

Rolled MSR roofing is thinner, larger, cheaper, less durable, and horizontally installed in long strips. Besides being thicker, composite shingles or any type of shingle are far less prone to tearing or cracking because stress is distributed across a wide area of individually moving parts. We'll schedule an install appointment or provide you with everything to easy DIY.

When calculating strip widths and designing rolls, the maximum thickness within the gage range is generally used. This is done to eliminate interference between the male and female rolls when the material is passing through. The use of restricted tolerance material will greatly improve part consistency but is rarely done, due to increased costs for raw materials.

Aging Families

They’ll help you determine what type of 4 bedroom house plans best suit your needs and what rooms you’ll need as your family grows. The lot size required for a 4 bedroom house plan depends on whether the layout is one story, two story, or even three story. Speaking of lot size, make sure that you know the "buildable area"within an overall property. Depending on the property's city or municipality, lot sizes can be subject to setbacks, maximum buildable coverage, and other zoning and planning restrictions. So it's essential to do your homework for the area you are considering building.

Everyone should be able to move in, out, and around their home with ease - and a single story home provides that access to many. Removing stairs or elevators from the equation is just part of the piece of mind you may need. The right house plan can provide other accessibility customizations too, so your residence will always feel like home. While you’re giving up a second story (and potentially a basement), single story homes still come packed with a lot of benefits.

Traditional bedroom homes are a popular choice for those who appreciate the familiarity and charm of historical architectural styles - and want to keep their home on a single level. Regarding cost, it's interesting to note that a two story house can be less expensive to build than a single story home. The lot size for a two story home can be smaller and thus, may cost less.

This normally involves filling out a simple form providing documentation that your house plans are in compliance. The advertised item must be the same plan as the product being purchased, including set type (5-copy, 8-copy, Reproducible, or CAD Set), foundation options, and any miscellaneous details. Advertised prices must be in the same currency that the original product was purchased in. Country style homes, also known as farmhouse or rural homes, are a charming and inviting architectural style that draws inspiration from the rural countryside. These homes exude warmth, simplicity, and a connection to nature, making them a popular choice for those seeking a cozy and welcoming living space.

We offer a one-time, 14-day exchange policy for unused, non-electronic plan packages in the event you aren't satisfied with your first selection. Additional hard copies of the plan (can be ordered at the time of purchase and within 90 days of the purchase date). While they exude a sense of timelessness, Traditional homes can still be adapted to meet modern living needs and preferences, striking a beautiful balance between the past and the present.

All family members can have their spaces and there may even be room for a guest suite. Smaller families may appreciate the flexibility a 4 bedroom house plan provides. A family with one or two children ends up with at least one room (possibly two) to use as a guest suite, home office, or gym. Four bedroom house plans are ideal for families who have three or four children. With parents in the master bedroom, that still leaves three bedrooms available.

Four-bedroom plans are perfect for multi-generational families with individuals who need extra care and support but don't need 24-hour monitored care. 2) The layout provides flexibility so you can easily convert rooms into offices, guest suites, and other spaces as needed. Digital plans emailed to you in PDF format that allows for printing copies and sharing electronically with contractors, subs, decorators, and more.

Either way, having four bedrooms allows each room to be an individual retreat that still feels connected with other rooms on the same floor. Our "go to guy" and company expert, Brandon is the visionary and dreamer of all we do here at America's Best House Plans. He manages quality assurance, audits existing processes for maximum effectiveness, and develops strategies to increase productivity and efficiency. Some of our plans are also available on other websites and in printed catalogs. We are committed to selling these plans at or below the lowest price available elsewhere.

You'll usually find a living room, dining room, kitchen, two and a half to three bathrooms, and four medium-size bedrooms in this size floor plan. This type of house plan is very versatile and uses space effectively to meet function. While it’s referred to as a 4-bedroom house plan, not all of the rooms have to be used as bedrooms. They can serve a variety of different uses, including a home office, play area, media room, game room, or yoga studio and can change over time. Four bedroom house designs make ideal primary residences or vacation homes, where families and friends can gather and entertain. As you might expect, a four-bedroom house plan is a home design that has four bedrooms.

Additionally, a two story house has less foundation and less roof area, two areas with high cost. A one story home with a more extensive roof area and foundation, plus a more significant lot requirement, can be the more expensive option. 4 bedroom houses are perfect for a large family or someone who likes to host gatherings because they have space for everyone and plenty of sleeping space. The more space you have in a 4-bedroom house plan, the less likely it is that you'll need a basement. You'll have more overhead space to use for bedrooms, bathrooms, and storage.

19 Low-Maintenance Landscaping Ideas From Artificial Turf to Xeriscaping

low maintenance landscape design

Thankfully, there are lots of stylish front yard design solutions which will stay looking pristine with very little effort required. From statement pathways to smart planting choices, these looks provide plenty of inspiration for your own plot. We have a landscaping business out here in NM and it is so important for people to understand how much care specific types of lawns take.

How do I start a low-maintenance garden?

It's all about choosing the right type of planting for your climate – and the amount of work you're prepared to put into maintaining your front yard. Artificial turf is a labor-saving choice for intimate spaces that may be difficult to maintain. It looks like the real thing, “grows” on any surface, lasts up to 20 years, and never needs to be mowed, watered, fertilized or weeded. Like garden art, water features add a visual focal element to the garden.

Low-Maintenance Pool Landscaping Ideas

Ornamental grasses are one of the best options for their contemporary yet soft appearance and soothing movement in the breeze. As demonstrated in this setup above, they look great when punctuated with succulents and splashes of purple nepeta ('Walker's Low', from Nature Hills, is a well-loved variety). But with the right choices, it's still possible to fill your front yard with greenery, without the fuss of daily maintenance. I could use them to arrange my landscaping borders and simple designing. Be sure to look for wildflowers that will regrow or reseed themselves each year.

Plant Living Groundcover

low maintenance landscape design

We love this front yard walkway of terrazzo pavers, interspersed with fine gravel and pretty planting. Adding slow-growing evergreen shrubs to the mix means there will be greenery all year (and less mess to clear up). Xeriscaping is proving increasingly popular amongst landscapers and homeowners. It's all about creating outdoor spaces that don't require much water, and the results are easy to look after and certainly chic.

Get Creative With a Small Garden

Wood fern ground cover adds texture and is a low-maintenance alternative to grass. Sloped yards are exceptionally difficult to care for, as they are prone to erosion. Installing terraced flower beds is a great way to create level planting spaces in a sloped yard. These beds are built out of massive natural stone slabs, which helps this stately structure blend into the landscape. As a bonus, these beds will help protect the environment by preventing fertilizer runoff.

Plus, unlike other hydrangeas, there's no pruning needed except to remove dead or damaged branches. Not only do they need less of a chill period, but they are also some of the most fragrant lilacs you can find. Add in a well-branched, semi-dwarf, compact habit, great disease resistance, and a really heavy bloom each spring and you have a wonderful plant for your garden. The flower buds are a mulberry purple color, with the flowers themselves a clear lavender purple.

Substitute Ground Cover for Lawn

From artificial turf to decorative rocks and more, there are many innovative solutions to minimize maintenance while maximizing the enjoyment of your outdoor space. Install a drip irrigation or soaker hose system to deliver water directly to the roots of your plants, minimizing water waste through evaporation and runoff. Pairing it with a timer or smart controller ensures efficient watering schedules, even when you're away. Incorporate evergreen shrubs into your landscape design to maintain year-round greenery without the hassle of seasonal pruning or leaf cleanup.

Even the keenest of gardeners will admit that having to water once, and sometimes twice a day at the height of summer can become very tedious. Or how about a green alternative to grass that always looks neat and never needs mowing? A sedum, thyme or even a chamomile lawn are all worth considering and are tough enough to be walked on.

How to Get Rid of Chickweed Naturally

You could introduce more hardscaping elements, like a larger driveway, a concrete patio, or walkways that decrease the amount of lawn space. The more time you invest up front putting down weed barriers in your landscaping beds, the less time you’ll spend battling the unwelcome plants later. Just be sure to choose fabric barriers that are permeable enough to let water run through, especially near any tree. Contending with fewer weeds equals more time relaxing with family and friends—it’s a win-win. What could be simpler than plants that keep their vivid, verdant color all year long? Put dwarf varieties into flower beds, set shrubs near your house to disguise the foundation, choose tall, columnar types for privacy—there are even creeping varieties for ground cover.

A backyard with a large stone patio, some evergreen trees and a small garden can transform your outdoor landscape. If you’re a couple years down the line on your low-maintenance garden, it may be time to start splitting your perennials. Dividing perennials is a simple way to add additional low-maintenance plants into your landscaping while also keeping them happy and healthy (and you’ll have plants to swap with your neighbors). “I consider the greatest maintenance task to be weeding,” Yost says, noting that a low-maintenance garden would be one that eliminates weeds as much as possible. To do this, she recommends planting plenty of flowers in garden beds, so the weeds don’t have any room to grow.

Healthy plants are more resilient to pests and diseases, requiring less maintenance. This could include reducing lawn areas, using low-maintenance hardscape materials, and replacing high-maintenance plants with carefree varieties. This style of this cute cottage seamlessly transitions into the garden. The DIY planters are built out of weathered rocks that coordinate well with the stone facade of the house.

The Palmer House is the second largest hotel in Chicago, after the Hyatt Regency, and its prosperity depends on conventions and business meetings coming back in abundance. The owner of the Palmer House, New York-based Thor Equities, was among the most prominent business victims of the pandemic. Thor was accused last year of defaulting on a $333.2 million mortgage on the Palmer House as the shutdown hurt the value of the property. A receiver is handling ownership decisions for the Palmer House, which Hilton operates under a management contract. She commissioned French muralist Louis Pierre Rigal to compose 21 unique frescoes on the lobby’s magnificent domed ceiling.

President Grant was married to Bertha Palmer’s sister Ida, and in 1879, the hotel hosted the “Greatest Banquet in American History” to commemorate the return of the President’s trip from around the world. A gala was hosted for 500 dignitaries and Civil War heroes, including General William Sherman and Phillip Sheridan, with Mark Twain, Potter’s friend, as master of ceremonies. If you’ve stepped foot in the hotel, chances are you’ve been enamored by the ornate lobby with its vaulted ceiling frescoes and impressive chandeliers. But there’s more to the hotel than what meets the eye.

Potter Palmer, a Chicago businessman who helped develop Chicago’s iconic State Street, was introduced by his former business partner, Marshall Field, to Bertha Honoré Palmer, a young socialite. The two began an incredible courtship and to show his love and admiration for Bertha, he gifted her with one of the most extravagant wedding gifts ever – the Palmer House hotel. Perhaps one of Palmer House’s greatest and most recognizable culinary contributions was the invention of the brownie.

When Conrad Hilton purchased the hotel in 1945, he suggested entertainment be escalated to full cabaret reviews, with as many as three opening acts, including the Merriel Abbott dancers. While today a destination for weddings and gala events, the Empire Room has hosted several legendary entertainers. The original Palmer House was destroyed 13 days after its grand opening in the Great Chicago Fire. Potter Palmer was determined to rebuild.

Bertha, who was president of the Ladies Board for Managers for Exposition, was creating box lunches for the Women’s Pavilion. She asked her chef to prepare a dessert, something more unique than a piece of pie or cake, and something that would be easy to eat and transport. She suggested he make something like a cookie, but denser and more decadent with chocolate. The recipe Bertha and the chef came up with is still used today. To celebrate the sesquicentennial, the property is launching a Bertha Brownie Latte a playful spin on the original fudge brownie, available at Lockwood Express.

To draw leisure travelers, the hotel is quoting rates of about $170 a night. There are cheaper places to stay, but none so layered in Chicago history. The Palmer House includes an archive and museum available for small-group visits. Meanwhile, Lane is just glad the hotel can look ahead to its 150th anniversary on Sept. 26. It marks the date when the first Palmer House opened on the property in 1871, an unfortunate wedding present Potter Palmer devised for his wife, Bertha.

During the Tiki culture fad of the 1950s and 1960s, as many as 25 Trader Vic's restaurants were in operation worldwide. They all featured the popular mix of Polynesian artifacts, unique cocktails, and exotic cuisine. Bespoke Website Design and Its Benefits Examples

bespoke web design

As a business, it’s easy to see some whizzy functionality on a competitor site, or a free theme, and think that’s what you need. But a little expertise, support and guidance goes a long way to ensuring every penny of development time works to drive traffic and conversions for the short and long-term. A bespoke website is one that is designed and built for a specific set of users or purpose.

Web development

A bespoke website’s costs depend on the complexity of the website and the amount of work involved in creating it. Generally speaking, basic websites can cost anywhere between $2,000 – $9,000, while complex and customized websites can cost upwards of $10,000 or more. However, you can often offset costs over time by avoiding costly upgrades and maintenance that come with off-the-shelf solutions.

Interactive and Immersive Experiences

Kobe Digital operates as three distinct groups, each specializing in a distinct marketing discipline. We believe the most creative, impactful work happens when our three groups collaborate, resulting in cohesive solutions for our clients most challenging problems. Weberous is a full service web agency, based in Los Angeles specializing in web design, branding, and marketing. In a world inundated with generic online platforms, businesses must leverage the power of bespoke website design to stand out. Manticore Marketing, with its proven track record and commitment to excellence, is your ideal partner in this journey. At Manticore Marketing, we understand the significance of bespoke website design in today’s digital landscape.

bespoke website design

Bespoke websites are far more cost-effective than buying pre-made templates or hiring a web design agency. You can save money and still get a website tailored to your specifications. Bespoke website design provides a custom-made website design tailored to fit the specific needs of a business or individual. This also allows for a unique website design that is created to stand out from the crowd and make a memorable impression on visitors.

However, maintaining a full-time in-house team is costly, requiring significant investment in salaries, tools, and ongoing training. On the other hand, fixed-quote agencies provide a project-based, cost-certain approach but often at a higher price point. They might lack the flexibility to accommodate revisions or project scope changes without additional costs, leading to budget overruns and extended timelines. Since our founding in 2009, hundreds of clients have taken advantage of our approach to developing and executing perfectly tailored strategic marketing initiatives to elevate their brands. Providing innovative next-level expert services in web design, SEO, internet marketing and branding. We also offer landing pages, website maintenance, email marketing, social media marketing and IT consulting.

A bespoke website design takes into account these aspects and is created and built according to your requirements. This is where the framework of a design is created and reused on a client-by-client basis. The structure remains the same, however, you can add your brand elements to it to make it yours. It is exactly this element that causes the confusion when put next to the words ‘Website Design’. It seems in most walks of life that bespoke means it’s created for that individual’s requirements.

After setting priorities with you, we’ll tackle these projects in the established sequence for the duration of your subscription. Under the standard package, a single professional will handle your project, focusing on one request or task at a time. Opt for the enterprise package, and we’ll manage two requests or tasks concurrently. The cost of a bespoke website can range from a few thousand dollars for a simple, custom design to over $100,000 for a large, complex design with numerous custom features and integrations. However, earlier-stage companies are also embracing bespoke website development to help them to stand out from the crowd but also to signal a level of sophistication or maturity.

The cost of development is a decisive factor for most businesses in the choice of a service provider. Therefore, it’s essential to be aware of the bespoke website development costs that you should expect on average. When searching for a bespoke design, I look for unique layouts, color themes, animations, how grouped content is organized and displayed, and elements and functionalities that I have never seen before. I frequently visit websites whose layouts resemble one another, often made from popular, ready-made services like Squarespace, GoDaddy, and WordPress. Yet, occasionally, I discover a bespoke web design that captures my attention with its cool animations, unique functionality, and seamless transitions. We created an effective marketing website that generated leads and helped the fintech startup to build a brand community.

Quality Assurance

bespoke web design

Bespoke designs are also often more secure and can be optimized to ensure the best performance possible. While more expensive, bespoke web design offers a great return on investment for those, who want the best experience for their website users. Personalization is a key trend in modern web design, with businesses leveraging data-driven insights to deliver tailored content and experiences to their audience. We harness the power of personalization to create bespoke web designs that resonate with your target audience and drive conversions. Search engine optimization (SEO) is a critical component for any website that wants to be found by potential customers. It involves optimizing a website for the algorithms of major search engines so it’ll rank higher in search results.

This personalized approach fosters a deeper connection with your audience, leading to increased engagement and conversions. Your website should be created solely based on your requirements – business goals, specific features, functionality – not  by what already exists. That’s exactly why we start with a blank canvas with our bespoke web design projects.

It's also worth mentioning that a templated website is always going to be better than a poor bespoke website. If you're low on budget, our advice is to work with a freelancer or small agency that create something template-based that's simple, and affordable. This is very difficult with an off the shelf theme, because the design is already created. That means you'll need to work your content around the structure that's already there, rather than using content-led design. That's why you'll find that most websites with complex functionality are built bespoke, and are supported with a custom CMS.

The joy of having a bespoke website is that you can plan out everything properly, starting with your user personas, user journeys and content. Meaning that every element of the project is aligned with your goals for the website, and your customer's motivations too. With a template or an off-the-shelf theme, most of the design and development work is done already. Minimalist design aesthetics, characterized by clean layouts, ample white space, and focused content, continue to dominate the bespoke web design landscape. This approach prioritizes user-centric design, emphasizing clarity, simplicity, and ease of navigation.

Needed to redesign their website to improve performance and attract more prospects. Work with a top Los Angeles web design agency to drive qualified traffic, boost brand engagement and increase conversions. We will work closely together so I can understand your business, vision, values, and goals.

You can easily change the design and functionality of the website to suit your requirements without having to go through all of the coding yourself. But with bespoke websites there's a lot more work - and not just with the design and development either. Functionality is another area where a bespoke website can give you much greater flexibility to create the experience you want. However, here you might still find restrictions even if you're getting a bespoke design.

We believe in crafting authentic brands through both meaningful creative strategy and state-of-the-art technology. By providing our clients with unparalleled services across multiple categories, we help them better communicate their brand value and reach their full potential. Custom websites, with their adaptability to the latest design and technology trends, ensure a modern and relevant online presence, leaving a positive impression on visitors. Beyond aesthetics, this adaptability enables seamless integration with emerging technologies, responsive design for diverse devices, and the flexibility to stay optimized for search engines.

First Look at Staterooms on Margaritaville's New Cruise Ship, Islander

margaritaville cruise ship pictures

As with any low fares, there is always a caveat -- and while Margaritaville at Sea fare may seem inexpensive at first, there are some not-so-obvious costs. You'll have to pay port fees, for one thing, as well as fuel charges and gratuities. WiFi costs extra, and there's mandatory valet parking if you drive to the port. Once you're in the Bahamas, shore excursions are extra and you will have to pay to take transportation from the terminal in Freeport to any attractions, as there is nothing within walking distance. For newbies looking to try a cruise vacation or frequent sailors searching for a quick getaway, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise provides a good-enough experience that might very well get you hooked on Mother Ocean. The cabin was completely redecorated to fit the Margaritaville lifestyle and certainly look very similar to many of the Margaritaville resorts around the country and the Caribbean.

Where does Margaritaville at Sea Paradise sail from?

A lot of kids have food allergies, my son included, and that is a concern of mine. Aboard this tropical floating resort, you’ll find the Stars on the Water theater and bar, where you can catch a performance of the ship show “Tales from Margaritaville,” written by Jimmy Buffett and Frank Marshall. Jimmy Buffett has written a number of books, one of which is the best-selling “Tales from Margaritaville,” featuring the protagonist Tully Mars. The Margaritaville At Sea Paradise is relatively small, especially compared to the big cruise lines on the ocean nowadays.

Night Key West & Cozumel

We also found odd areas of dead space, particularly the Hangout on Deck 14, which seemed like a sports bar with no bartenders or guests. JWB Prime Steakhouse is the fine dining establishment aboard the Margaritaville cruise ship. This concept also exists at a handful of the luxury resorts from Margaritaville around the country and in the Caribbean. Over recent years, the resorts and other vacation experiences served as the company’s focus.

The sink has lots of counter space, making it great for placing your toiletries and other items. It is in the corner and is a cylinder shape with a shower curtain that covers the back of the shower. Fins Restaurant and Port of Indecision Buffet will serve as your included spots.

Margaritaville at Sea is your new off-shore resort experience, sailing from Palm Beach and Tampa to Grand Bahama Island, Mexico and Key West. On this floating island vacation, you can unwind, enjoy the endless activities and entertainment, or just relax and soak up the sun. There are just two types of cabins aboard Margaritaville At Sea Paradise. There are Inside cabins and Oceanview cabins, which have a porthole window. It is interesting to note that the inside cabins have a bigger capacity than the ocean view cabins, so families have to book an Inside cabin or a suite. In addition to the standard inside and ocean view cabins, there are a handful of terrace suites.

margaritaville cruise ship pictures

Margaritaville at Sea is currently giving a cruise ship they recently purchased a huge makeover. This includes a complete remodel of all 1,105 cabins on Margaritaville at Sea Islander. Grand Bahama Island is a haven of gorgeous white sand beaches, surrounded by crystal clear waters that stretch for miles. Extend your vacation on land and stay at your choice of three gorgeous partner resorts on Grand Bahama Island for an all-inclusive experience. Sailing with Margaritaville at Sea is an unforgettable ocean adventure perfect for first-time and experienced cruisers alike. From free cruises for Heroes to discounts for college students and seasonal cruise specials, there is a special offer made just for you.

In short, those sailing without kids are probably going to have a better time than those sailing with kids. There are three complimentary kid’s programs, which include supervision. Both of these clubs were not available for viewing during this sailing. Entertainment and activities are offered at certain times of the day, and into the late night at a few spots on the ship. The main lounge in the middle of the ship is Euphoria, and it hosts the main entertainment for adults in the evening.

The First Margaritaville Cruise Sets Sail in April — and We Got a Sneak Peek of the Ship

To learn about Margaritaville at Sea, visit margaritavilleatsea.com. The ship will feature a soaring 14-story atrium with a unique nautical Margaritaville flip flop and a lively atrium bar with three awe-inspiring multi-story floating margarita glass chandeliers. Announced today, Margaritaville at Sea is offering an entirely new way to float into island time aboard their new flagship vessel, the Margaritaville at Sea Islander. Guests can reserve 2024 sailings online starting today and take advantage of exclusive preview incentives available for a limited time.

At Grand Bahama Island guests can participate in shore excursions including dolphin experiences and swimming with the Bahamian pigs. During our inaugural media event, we were presented with shareable portions of each entrée and side. The quality of the steak as well as the sumptuous sides are on par with any steakhouse that you would find at a luxury resort. Margaritaville at Sea Paradise has a number of restaurants, about half of which are included in your fare. The current state of the ship is interesting because many remnants of the ship’s previous branding can be found in the decor.

The ship’s casual-luxe cabins and common spaces will allow guests to drift away to paradise with subtle nautical details and colors influenced by the surrounding seas, sands, and skies. The heart of the ship will be the 14-story Flip Flop Atrium, featuring a giant flip flop sculpture at the base, multi-story floating margarita glass chandeliers, a bar and a full-stage LED screen. The ship will also have a spa and fitness center, casino, live music enclaves, such as the Six String outdoor live music stage, two-story nightclub and four outdoor pool zones.

The Margaritaville at Sea Paradise is your easy escape for a Bahamas getaway where there's always a party in the makin'. Kick back in comfort with live entertainment and performances, drinks by the pool, games of chance at the casino, and delicious food—always ready when you are. Sailing from the Port of Palm Beach, Florida to Freeport, Grand Bahama Island on 2- and 3-night itineraries. Which is good, because only 10 rooms on the entire ship come with a balcony. Even junior suites only have portholes; you have to book a Grand Terrace Suite if you want outdoor real estate. Another area where the ship seems dated is in its utilities; the renovation did not add the number of American outlets and USB ports that always-wired travelers want these days.

It was so hard to get a seat here that people resorted to carrying food all over the ship, leaving dirty dishes in lounges far away from the restaurant. If I were to bring my son aboard Margaritaville At Sea Paradise this would probably be the way we’d do it. The kids’ activities are enough to keep young kids happy for a night, but two nights in a row might be rough. By adding a few nights at an all-inclusive resort, it would be more entertaining for kids and more relaxing for parents.

Margaritaville at Sea offers two distinctive resorts at sea to transport you to the ultimate island state of mind. Departing on her first passenger sailing on April 30 from the Port of Palm Beach Florida to Grand Bahama Island, Margaritaville Paradise will include 10 passenger decks and 658 cabins in various stateroom categories. Setting sail in spring 2022, the Margaritaville Paradise will feature 10 passenger decks and 659 cabins with various stateroom categories.

But I can also see where having too much Buffett make alienate newer cruisers and -- let's face it -- younger and more diverse passengers. The classic Buffett audience is aging; Jimmy's songs may seem timeless, but most were released in the 1970s. Far smarter to focus on margaritas and parrots and palm trees, and keep the yacht rock to a minimum. As a Parrothead, I naturally fell in love with seeing the Margaritaville branding placed onto a cruise ship.

Carnival Jubilee Itinerary, Current Position, Ship Review

carnival cruise ship jubilee

Carnival Jubilee does not have a specific daytime dress code, and people dress casually. If it's a sea day in a warm-weather destination, and you're bound for the top deck, T-shirts, shorts and bathing suits (with a cover-up to go inside) are just fine. Carnival Jubilee passengers will automatically have $16 per person per day added to their onboard bills. (Children younger than 2 are exempt from gratuities.) An 18% gratuity is also added to bar and cafe bills, spa treatments and the cover charge of the Chef's Table. Activities here are less structured, and participants can come and go as they please. Kids and adults who aren't afraid of heights will enjoy the top-deck ropes course, which offers two options for different levels of skill and bravery.

Port of Galveston Gets Ready

Guests who stay in these cabins enjoy spa-branded bathrobes and slippers, Elemis bath products, and complimentary access to the spa’s thermal suite. Other perks include priority for spa appointments, a complimentary yoga or pilates class, a scrub kit to use in the thermal suite, and spa treatment discounts. Havana is a Latin-inspired part of the ship on deck 8 that includes a bar, sundeck, and staterooms.

Currents

Carnival Jubilee is the third ship in Carnival Cruise Line’s Excel Class, following sisters Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, and the 26th Carnival FUN ship. This 182,800 gross ton ship accommodates over 5300 guests at double occupancy and pays homage to the original MS Jubilee (1985). This new vessel debuted in Galveston in December 2023 from Terminal 25 which underwent an multi-million dollar enhancement project. While sailing a typical Western Caribbean itinerary, this Carnival Jubilee review did have some firsts for us as we had never sailed from this Texas homeport. Carnival Corporation is set to release Q3 financials on Friday, September 29.

Carnival Jubilee Voted Best New Cruise Ship of 2023

This fits the Carnival “Fun Ship” approach perfectly, as guests can dine how they like. Carnival Jubilee is an excellent option for families who want to be spoiled for choice, cruisers who can drive to Galveston and anyone who wants to cut loose and have fun on their vacation. The Build-A-Bear Workshop at Sea event allows kids to build their own stuffed animal and add clothes and accessories. There’s even a Carnival-exclusive bear and a St. Jude bear that benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Passengers can join in on the action with Family Feud Live and Deal or No Deal — both high-energy game shows where guests can win real prizes. Don’t miss the Sailaway Party and the Groove for St. Jude party.

But the ship also offers some of the first real suites in the fleet, featuring separate living room and bedroom areas, bathrooms with separate tubs and showers, and walk-in closets. On the final day of the cruise, more than 1,600 crew members gathered for a pep rally and group photo on the Lido Deck in matching Carnival jackets the line had specially made for the occasion. It was mind-boggling to see them all in one place at the same time.

THE ULTIMATE PLAYGROUND

I also had a wonderful time at two special events — complimentary afternoon tea and an extra-fee Dr. Seuss-themed Thing 1 and Thing 2 Birthday Breakfast — held in the Atlantic Restaurant. One of the best ways Carnival provides value to its customers is through its food offerings. Complimentary dining abounds on Carnival Jubilee, and the variety of cuisines is impressive. You'll find more free options on Carnival ships than on just about any other fleet's vessels, and they're actually tasty.

Carnival Jubilee restaurants and bars

Once a table is assigned, head to the restaurant of choice where you’ll be escorted to the table. With afternoon coffee in hand (albeit later than usual), we headed back to our cabin to unpack and get settled in before dinner. Saying goodbye to some cruise friends who were only onboard for the day, it was back to our regularly scheduled cruise program. Java Blue is the coffee house on Carnival Jubilee serving up all your espresso-based beverages, along with milkshakes.

Other Carnival Cruise Line cruise ships

There are 98 Havana staterooms on Carnival Jubilee, including interior, cabana (similar to a balcony), extended cabana, cabana suites, and cabana corner suites. Parents are allowed to visit ports while kids are in the clubs, but in some cases, the babysitting fee applies. A kids-only lunch is offered on those days for kids of a certain age.

Cruise Hive was established back in 2008 and among the earliest blogs in the industry. Since the start, it's been our aim to provide the latest cruise news covering all the major cruise lines. We make sure cruisers are fully prepared for their cruise vacation with tips on ships and ports.Millions of travelers rely on Cruise Hive in the United States, Europe, Australia, and around the world. The elevator situation on Jubilee definitely lacks in comparison to other cruise lines.

Up to the Ultimate Playground, we took a few laps around the jogging track before trying our luck at mini-golf. While I’ve been known to play a mean game of cruise ship mini-golf, my losing streak continued. From here, the fun continued on the lido deck with the 80’s Glow Party. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again–Carnival cruisers go all out for these parties, so be sure to pack your 80’s attire for the event. Maybe we were partial to the music, but we did enjoy this party more than the White Party earlier in the week.

She'll show up occasionally on the LED screens that make up the fake windows lining the promenade. The vessel's original bell and ship plaque, both from 1986, are on display. Also, the boat that's positioned as a photo spot in the new Jubilee's The Shores zone bears the original Jubilee's hull number, 0717, as the fake registration number on its hull. Love it or hate it, there are throwbacks everywhere you look on Carnival Jubilee. A forever fan of Farcus — I even have one of his piano bar tables in my living room, rescued from Carnival's former Tropicale — I think the design elements (the colors, the decor, the mixture of styles) are brilliant. Here, I'll run through the specifics of what I truly enjoyed while on board, and a few things that gave me pause.

Plans for a transatlantic sailing were shelved; instead, Carnival Jubilee would make her way directly to Galveston to sail a Christmas inaugural cruise. The inaugural sailing was set to depart on October 30, 2023 from Southampton. The 18-day transatlantic voyage would visit Port of Virgo in Spain, Las Palmas and Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Funchal in Portugal, and Grand Turk before arriving to her new home of Galveston.

After watching for a few minutes, we made our way aft to the Ultimate Playground zone. We debated playing a round of mini golf, but it was pretty busy. So, we would subsequently return later in the week for some sports deck fun. A major milestone for any new cruise ship is the first cut of metal by the shipbuilder. This maritime tradition is typically accompanied by a large celebration as it signifies the beginning of the construction journey.

These restaurants offer set early and late dinner seatings along with Anytime Dining. There are 115 Cloud 9 Spa staterooms and suites, which are located on decks 5 and 17. Interior, oceanview, balcony, and suite accommodations are all available. Up above is Loft 19, open only to guests in the ship’s Excel Suites. This spot includes a warm tub as well as a lot of padded lounge chairs.

My two most disappointing extra-fee food encounters on Carnival Jubilee were Seafood Shack (Deck 16, in the Lido zone, near the pool) and room service. Shaq's Big Chicken, a restaurant backed by basketball great Shaquille O'Neal (who is also Carnival's CFO, chief fun officer), is perfect if you have a hankering for some fried chicken. In addition to chicken strips, sandwiches and fries, the counter-service venue also serves breakfast. Do yourself a favor and try the chicken and biscuit combo with fries. On Carnival Jubilee, the Lido Marketplace on Deck 16 is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, but I found it largely uninspired and lacking in variety. The French toast I had for breakfast and the mahi mahi I had for dinner were tasty, but there are definitely better no-charge venues on board.

After dinner, it was time to enjoy more of the comedy available around the ship. First, we attended another DJ Cooch set in the Punchliner comedy club, which was funnier than his PG version we saw earlier in the week. With less crowds onboard, we were able to secure much of the remaining photos and videos that we needed. So, that left the rest of the day for lots of food and some drinks.

Cruises on Norwegian Epic

norwegian cruise line epic

While we don’t have children or travel with other couples who do, we’ve met plenty of families that love the activities on board the Epic. The Entourage Club is a great gathering space for teens / tweens with video games, consoles, etc. There are also plenty of kid-friendly activities outside of the Entourage like the water slides and water park. The Epic cruise ship has more than enough to keep passengers from getting restless during their vacation. Don’t forget, if you’re really a spa person and expect to make heavy use of the spa, sometimes the Spa Staterooms are less expensive than a balcony cabin plus buying a pass, so definitely compare when booking.

Suite (MC)

The ship offers two separate main pools (with four hot tubs), a kiddy pool area and a pool for suite guests. Norwegian Epic Spa Mini-Suites with a Balcony can accommodate up to three guests. They feature two lower beds that convert into a queen-size bed, a sitting area, shower or luxury bath with shower, additional bedding to accommodate one more guest and soothing spa decor.

I need a mini fridge for mu insulin. Do the balcony suites come with them?

The crew are engaged and committed to guest satisfaction. Pulse Fitness is one of the largest such facilities at sea. With plenty of machines, free weights and space for classes, Pulse Fitness is an outstanding gym. With both free and fee-based fitness classes, there is something to suit the needs of all guests. With plenty of activities for guests of all ages, Epic is ideal for families.

Deck Key:

There's sizzling Rumba, elegant Viennese waltzes, seductive Tango, and more. These performers know how to heat up the theater and will showcase the classic ballroom styles. Have a pint at O'Sheehans Bar & Grill which is open 24 hours. You can also chow down on plenty of Irish comfort foods, including prime rib and all-you-can-eat ribs. Shaker's Martini Bar is the perfect spot to unwind at night with a martini or two.

Deck layouts

Of course you'll have access to all kinds of great amenities, like 24-hour room service and much more. The list of new (redesigned) facilities includes a photo gallery (deck 5), library (deck 7), card room (deck 7) and the new SplashGolf (kids mini-golf course). The SplashGolf is a retrofit to the ship's existing splash pad (part of the Aqua Park area).

norwegian cruise line epic

The dress code is decidedly casual with some restrictions in the main dining room and upscale specialty restaurants. For example, tanks tops, flip-flops and worn out clothes are not permitted. Smart casual is the name of the game in these restaurants. Cruisers always have the option of dressing up or not and for some, a cruise is the perfect time to dress-up. The full gamut of appropriate styles will be seen in the more formal dining rooms on the ship.

Passengers exempted from the new (uncommon for the industry) room service fee are only the occupants of “The Haven” suites. Still, as an exception, all passengers can order (for free) their room-service morning coffee and Continental Breakfast. After implementing the new service charge, NCL upgraded the room service menu, adding more hot food items for Breakfast and a wider food & drinks selection (available for ordering 24 hours a day).

Shop from a variety of souvenirs, cosmetics, clothing, snacks and sundry items. Treat yourself at our duty free shops full of fantastic savings on fine jewelry, accessories, perfume, liquor and tobacco. Leisure days at sea, exciting moonlit nights, and nothing to distract from the journey ahead. When it comes to the award-winning entertainment on board Norwegian Epic, you won’t believe your eyes or even your ears. Experience the legendary Liverpool venue where the Beatles performed, The Cavern Club.

Cruise News Recap: Carnival Hike, Overbooking, Stranded Passengers

Mainly this was found among some of the bartenders throughout the ship who looked like they were just overworked and tired. Based on a pandemic cruise early in 2022, the employee morale just wasn’t what I’ve experienced on other cruises, but with staff shortages and a challenging work environment, it’s not at all surprising. The current pricing to use the Mandara Thermal Suite is about $300 for a week (On a 9-day transatlantic crossing, it was $319 including all fees).

From finding the right destination to choosing the best departure date, we're here to help. Plus, our experienced travel consultants have access to exclusive vacation deals to make sure you get the best value for your time and money. A Sail Away Inside stateroom guarantees an Inside stateroom or better! Your stateroom may be on any deck and assigned between time of booking up to one day prior to embarkation. For those cruising without kiddos, Spice H20 onboard Norwegian Epic is an adults-only beach-club style pool, overlooking the aft of the ship and serving up some of the best cocktails onboard. New evening entertainment options are also introduced at the ship’s theatre (deck 5).

Pools, a waterslide, an aqua park, a rock climbing wall, and huge sun decks are among the many things to do on the Epic. There is a downside to the Thermal Suite on the Epic, however. On Transatlantic cruises, they tend to oversell the pass. It’s stated that the pass is only sold to a limited number of passengers, but I’ve experienced otherwise, unfortunately.

Children have access to the dedicated clubs and adults will find solitude in the adult-only Spice H2O area. Follow our social media and blog for the latest cruise and travel news, including our best vacation deals. Enjoy Norwegian Cruise Line's onboard entertainment, including Broadway productions, comedy clubs, dueling pianos and much more. Mom and Dad will definitely sneak away from their family cruise on Epic for a romantic date night at Le Bistro, an upscale French eatery, hailed as the most elegant restaurant on the ship. Italian food is a family favorite in most households and a cruiser favorite onboard ! La Cucina serves up fresh fare, made with classic Tuscan recipes and the guidance of expert NCL chefs.

Splash Academy takes kids 5-12 years of age, while Entourage is the program for year olds. Parents are advised to sign up their children when they board. The kids engage in a variety of activities in the dedicated program areas and throughout the ship. Broadway shows, dancing spectaculars, and tribute bands entertain guests.

In passenger hallways, the carpet is made of swimming fish! Since the ship is so large, it’s easy to get lost or turned backward, so use the fish to guide you. My only complaint with Bliss on the Epic is that the age restriction hasn’t been enforced in the past 2 voyages I’ve had.

Carnival Careers: Set Sail on Your Dream Job with Carnival

cruise line careers

Onboard I am responsible for the overall cleanliness of the cabin and of course with the proper PPE (personal protective equipment) and procedure.
